Administrator Residency (AIT) Program
The Administrator Residency (AIT) Program is designed to prepare future nursing facility administrators with the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience needed to lead effectively and provide exceptional care.
Program Objectives
Participants in the AIT Program will:
Develop the competencies required to successfully manage a nursing facility.
Gain real-world experience to better prepare for the national licensure examination.
Learn to serve residents, families, and staff with professionalism and compassion.
Program Structure
Minimum Duration: 1,000 hours
Effective January 1, 2023Flexible Curriculum: The program allows participants to tailor their learning experiences based on a comprehensive job analysis and current industry standards.
State Hour Reduction Waiver
North Dakota offers a waiver to reduce the required AIT program hours for individuals who have prior experience working in a skilled nursing facility.
Applicants with qualifying experience may be eligible for a reduced number of training hours, subject to review and approval by the appropriate state licensing board.If you believe you may qualify, please inquire during the application process for details on how to apply for the waiver.

Program Requirements
Written documentation of all AIT experiences will be required to complete the program.
